Wabi-sabi, the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection, asymmetry, asperity, simplicity and appreciation of the natural state. It was a theme carried through beautifully, from the long and wooden dining table through to the crates and cushions on the floor. Ivy wrapped around the rafters and lights were strung across the room haphazardly, contributing to the cosy and welcoming ambiance of a vacant garage.
Wine bottles were quickly swapped over once nearing on empty, honeycomb candles burnt to stumps and food was shared and celebrated.
