Held annually in December with over seventy stalls, the Summer Night Markets offer you a 'get out of jail free' card if you've been a bit slack in stock piling Christmas gifts. I myself came away from the markets with a pavlova recipe/card from the lovely Ann at the Whiteman Park Print Shop, which I will test out sometime closer to the Australia Day long weekend. Although, Ann assures me she's made some equally delicious lamingtons using the recipe printed on one of her cute cards for sale.
Not only will you find greeting cards ("Merry Christmas ya filthy animal") but you'll come across notebooks and stationary, punny shirts and homewares and prints, cupcake earrings and actual cupcakes for those interested in the ones you can eat. Who knows, you may decide it's time to get those Mario Kart skills up to scratch and vs the kids playing in the urban beach on the big screen in the Arts and Culture district.
