Too many photos of a pretty, luxurious and heavenly-soft carpet covered hotel? Never. The St.Regis Singapore is wonderfully located on the edge of Orchard and Tanglin Roads, albeit an approximate ten minute walk from Ion Orchard. By taxi, three minutes.
As explained in my previous post, the rooms of the St.Regis were on a whole other level, exuding beauty and comfort. The hotel and its surrounds are much of the same story. The pool was so refreshing, especially during a humid day in Singapore and you can have breakfast outside in the canapes by the pool, watching the water ebb and flow.
After a long day sight-seeing, the hotel lobby is welcoming, with the drifting sound of a piano playing, as the hotel guests chatter in the dining room. The St.Regis acts as a makeshift art gallery, displaying beautiful and different pieces all throughout the hotel, even holding guided tours for those wishing to view some art but not willing to step out of the confines of their cool recluse.
The Remede Spa is open until 11pm. If you like the idea of having all of the spa and amenities to yourself, go around 9 - 10pm and stay until closing. On a weeknight, it's all yours. I didn't take my camera with me to take photographs and perhaps I should have - but it was lovely.
The hydrotherapy pool eased my sore and tight muscles and the sauna, a chamber of steam. You can wash yourself off with a cool "rain shower" or even try to figure out what exactly the ice fountain was for. Fish swim in a small fish tank at the private relax chairs and you will find more soft robe goodness in the changing rooms.
The staff at the spa are delightful. I had the misfortune of accidentally leaving my jade bracelet in the pocket of one of the gowns, had thrown it into the basket and woke up the next day with dread that it was lost forever. The staff at the spa were quickly onto it, contacting the laundromat at the factory located offsite. Time was an issue as I was leaving the very next morning.
Later that afternoon they came up, knocked on the door and presented with a small bag and my jade bracelet. It was an amazing surprise and relief, and I don't think that my very sentimental bracelet would have been found at any other hotel.
Orchids adorn the lobby and can be found near the elevators on every floor. Staff are friendly enough and the service we experienced was fast and efficient. Room service is quite good too - their cheesecake was simple but just what I needed for a midnight snack but beware the prices. Keep an eye out for special deals for the St.Regis, voted the number one most luxurious hotel 2014 in Singapore on TripAdvisor, if you feel like a little splendor.
